The Scottish SPCA has scored a very generous donation from charity partner, Edinburgh City FC.
We received an incredible £567.55 from the capital’s club. These funds will go towards horse scales at our animal rescue and rehoming centre in the capital. The club raised the money through collections at their home games.
Manager of the centre in Edinburgh, Diane Aitchison, said, “We are delighted to receive the funds generously raised by Edinburgh City FC and its supporters.
“The fantastic thing is that all the money raised was from the club’s fans which makes it even more impressive.
“The money will go towards much needed horse scales at the centre which will allow us to weigh the horses in our care which is very important for monitoring health.
“As we receive no government funding, we rely on the generosity of members of the public and charity partners such as Edinburgh City FC to help animals.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, and of course, to our friends at Edinburgh City FC.”
Edinburgh City FC commercial director Calum Smith commented, “We are a club with the community and good causes at the core of its belief system and ethos, therefore we are delighted to align ourselves with a charity partner like the Scottish SPCA.
“We recognise the selfless work that the organisation carries out, which makes an incredible difference to the lives of thousands of animals and people day in, day out and it is a pleasure to be able, along with our generous supporters, to support them in this small way.”
We are the official charity partner of the club until the end of the 2019/20 SPFL season.
