Scotland's animal welfare charity
Volunteers play a key role with the Scottish SPCA - and we hugely appreciate their dedication and support!
There are several different ways to volunteer with us. Whether you just want to help, you are looking for a fantastic way to spend your retirement or you would like to gain experience working with animals, we would like to hear from you.
Volunteering is a great way to start a career with the Scottish SPCA, Many of our inspectors, animal rescue officers and centre staff started as volunteers with us.
I really enjoy volunteering with the Scottish SPCA, particularly helping with the dogs. It's great to take the dogs out of the kennels for exercise! John Browne, Aberdeenshire
Helping the animals in our rescue and rehoming centres is very popular - in fact so popular we often have waiting lists! We are delighted so many people wish to get involved.
We will notify anyone asked to go on a waiting list of any volunteering opportunities as soon as possible.
Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about volunteering in groups on behalf of companies and organisations. The opportunities available will depend on the size of your group and the needs of individual centres.
At times we can also help students gain work experience. Please note the minimum age to volunteer in our centres is 18.
We rely on donations to continue our vital work and we are always looking for fundraising volunteers at our shows and events.
If you are interested in helping raise funds you can get involved as much or as little as you want - even a couple of hours each year will do.
This is a great way to help us rescue and rehome abused, abandoned and injured animals in Scotland - and yes, you can wear a costume if you like!
Please note the minimum age to volunteer and help raise funds is 16.
